Animal Medical Center of Jupiter’s​ mission is to provide our canine patients with the highest quality compassionate care and keep their owners educated and informed to make the best decisions possible for their pets.

We emphasize the importance of routine dog wellness exams at our hosptial for the purpose of disease prevention and early illness detection. We believe that dog owners should be well educated about common diseases and afflictions that their pets are prone to based on their breed, age, and husbandry.​

6-8 Weeks​

  • Physical Exam and Client Consultation
  • Intestinal Parasite Screening (Fecal Exam)
  • Routine Deworming
  • Nail Trim and Ear Cleaning
  • Age Appropriate Vaccinations: Canine Distemper/ Adenovirus/ Parainfluenza/ Parvovirus (1st of 3)
  • Start on Heartworm and Internal Parasite Prevention (Complimentary First Dose)
  • Client Education: Age/Breed specific Client Education including proper nutrition, potty training, basic obedience/socialization, preventing zoonotic (transferable to humans) parasites to people and other pets, Pet Insurance and Payment Plan Options for Pet Health Care and what to look forward to for future visits at our animal clinic.

10-12 Weeks

  • Physical Exam and Client Consultation
  • Intestinal Parasite Screening (Fecal Exam)
  • Routine Deworming/ Specified Parasite Treatment if necessary
  • Nail Trim and Ear Cleaning
  • Age Appropriate Vaccinations: Canine Distemper/ Adenovirus/ Parainfluenza/ Parvovirus (2nd Booster); Leptospirosis (1st of 2 and if at risk); Bordetella (1st of 2); Lymes (1st of 2 and if at risk); Canine Influenza (1st of 2 and if at risk)
  • Continue with Heartworm and Internal Parasite Prevention Start on Flea and Tick Prevention (Complimentary First Dose)
  • Client Education: Demonstrate Teeth Brushing and Maintaining Dental Health, Nail Trimming, Ear Cleaning, Basic Grooming/ Bathing Tips, and Choosing the Right Products for your Puppy.

14-16 Weeks

  • Physical Exam and Client Consultation
  • Intestinal Parasite Screening (Fecal Exam if Previously Tested Positive)
  • Routine Deworming/ Specified Parasite Treatment if necessary
  • Nail Trim and Ear Cleaning
  • Age Appropriate Vaccinations: Canine Distemper/ Adenovirus/ Parainfluenza/ Parvovirus (3rd Booster); Leptospirosis (2nd Booster and if at risk); Bordetella (2nd Booster); Rabies; Lymes (2nd booster and if at risk); Canine Influenza (2nd booster and if at risk)
  • Continue with Heartworm and Internal Parasite Prevention Continue with Flea and Tick Prevention
  • Client Education: Vaccination and Appropriate intervals/ Risk assessment, Discuss Spaying and Neutering, Alleviating anesthetic risk through pre-anesthetic bloodwork and other pre-operative screening, Preparing for surgery and recovery, Microchipping, and Wellness Care Recommendations until First Annual Visit.

12-18 Months

  • Physical Exam and Client Consultation
  • Intestinal Parasite Screening Blood Parasite Screening (Heartworm, Lymes, and other Tick Borne Diseases)
  • Junior Pet Annual Wellness Laboratory Screening: Red and White Blood Cell Counts, Platelets, and Internal Organ Function Test Age Appropriate Vaccination Boosters: Canine Distemper/ Adenovirus/ Parainfluenza/ Parvovirus (3 Year Vaccine); Rabies (3 year Vaccine); Leptospirosis (1 year Vaccine and if pet is at risk); Bordetella (every 6-12 months); Lymes (1 year and if at risk); Canine Influenza (1 year and if at risk)
  • Routine Deworming
  • Nail Trim and Ear Cleaning
  • Continue with Heartworm and Internal Parasite Prevention
  • Continue with Flea and Tick Prevention
  • Client Education: Maintaining Dental Health, Body Condition Scoring, Nutritional/Lifestyle/Activity Level Assessment, Screening for internal and external parasites, Preventing Parasites and other Infectious Diseases.

2-6 Years ​(Adult Canine)

  • Physical Exam and Client Consultation
  • Intestinal Parasite Screening Blood Parasite Screening (Heartworm, Lymes, and other Tick Borne Diseases)
  • Adult Pet Annual Wellness Laboratory Screening: Red and White Blood Cell Counts, Platelets, Internal Organ Function Test, Urinalysis
  • Age Appropriate Vaccination Boosters: Canine Distemper/ Adenovirus/ Parainfluenza/ Parvovirus (3 Year Vaccine); Rabies (3 year Vaccine); Leptospirosis (1 year Vaccine and if pet is at risk); Bordetella (every 6-12 months); Lymes (1 year and if at risk); Canine Influenza (1 year and if at risk)
  • Clients have the option of testing their pet’s immunity to certain disease(s) through titer testing vs. vaccinating. 
  • Routine Deworming
  • Nail Trim and Ear Cleaning
  • Continue with Heartworm and Internal Parasite Prevention
  • Continue with Flea and Tick Prevention
  • Evaluate for Annual Dental Cleaning
  • Client Education: Maintaining Dental Health, Body Condition Scoring, Nutritional/Lifestyle/Activity Level Assessment, Screening for internal and external parasites, Preventing Parasites and other Infectious Diseases.

7 Years and Older (Senior Canine)

  • Physical Exam and Client Consultation
  • Intestinal Parasite Screening Blood Parasite Screening (Heartworm, Lymes, and other Tick Borne Diseases)
  • Senior Pet Annual Wellness Laboratory Screening: Red and White Blood Cell Counts, Platelets, Comprehensive Internal Organ Function Test, Thyroid Test, Urinalysis
  • Senior Pet Imaging Study Screening reviewed by a Radiologist: Chest and Abdominal Radiographs to monitor for any disease processes not specifically screened for with routine laboratory testing (cancer, heart disease, liver/ spleen masses, bladder stones, etc.), Abdominal Ultrasound (Optional Services)
  • Age Appropriate Vaccination Boosters: Canine Distemper/ Adenovirus/ Parainfluenza/ Parvovirus (3 Year Vaccine); Rabies (3 year Vaccine); Leptospirosis (1 year Vaccine and if pet is at risk); Bordetella (every 6-12 months); Lymes (1 year and if at risk); Canine Influenza (1 year and if at risk)
  • Clients have the option of testing their pet’s immunity to certain disease(s) through titer testing vs. vaccinating
